Though I would love to say every photography outing goes smooth and easy with not a single wasted breath, the reality is I don't always take enough time to get the shot. I rush through my composition, or miss the focus because I don't want to wait; wishing the camera would just listen to my eye. Sometimes my imagination sees more than what is there, so even if I get all those pesky settings dialed in, I'm still left only capturing part of what I saw. Maybe it's a coping mechanism, but I tend to like all those missed shots as much as if not more than the expected swans amongst the ducks. I would always tell myself that I was going to turn them into paintings anyways, the photo is just a reference, blah blah blah. Or maybe I'm trying to find excuses to keep those less than good images around is just part of my digital hoarding tendencies.
